Asking for Eggs
Our When and Who and Art in Heaven
On earth as in how forgotten Will be done?
I am sheep and child and clay,
And ought all smiles be;
With all debts paid, dancing daily bread,
This day forgiven by thy name.
Lead not but deliver us—
Wanting fish, knocking on doors,
Asking for eggs,
Learning to forgive trespasses still.
For thine is the When and Where
And How and Why forever
And wherever, Amen.
